Oct 24, 2018 · Firebase’s ML Kit vs Tesseract OCR on Android devices. ... Summarizing the results of our comparison on iOS devices, Firebase’s ML Kit was leading by a solid margin against Tesseract OCR. ... Firebase’s ML Kit leads here as well but is not far ahead of Tesseract OCR.

There are three benefits of applying the Strategized Locking pattern: Enhanced flexibility and customization. It is straightforward to configure and customize a component for certain concurrency models because the synchronization aspects of components are strategized. If no suitable locking strategy is available for a new concurrency model, the family of locking strategies can be extended without affecting existing code. Decreased maintenance effort for components. It is straightforward to add enhancements and bug fixes to a component because there is only one implementation, rather than a separate implementation for each concurrency model. This centralization of concerns helps minimize version-skew. Improved reuse. Components implemented using this pattern become less dependent on specific synchronization mechanisms. They therefore become more reusable, because their locking strategies can be configured orthogonally to their behavior. There are two liabilities of applying the Strategized Locking pattern: Obtrusive locking. If templates are used to parameterize locking aspects this will expose the locking strategies to application code. Although this design is flexible, it also can be obtrusive, particularly for compilers that do not support templates efficiently or correctly. One way to avoid this problem is to apply the polymorphic strategy to vary component locking behavior. Over-engineering. Externalizing a locking mechanism by placing it in a component's interface may actually provide too much flexibility in certain situations. For example, inexperienced developers may try to parameterize a component with the wrong type of lock, resulting in improper compile- or run-time behavior. Similarly, only a single type of synchronization mechanism may be needed for a particular type of component. In this case the flexibility of Strategized Locking is unnecessary. In general this pattern is most effective when practical experience reveals a component's behavior to be orthogonal to its locking strategy, and that locking strategies do indeed vary in semantically meaningful and efficient ways.

whole group of people to leap mentally higher than they otherwise might, to get beyond mere common sense. This is more than a teaching function or simple knowledge exchange. It is more akin to intellectual stimulation or a call to action. Denning s stories are short and tend to describe possibilities based on actual events. They are carefully assembled and delivered. The springboard story is meant to catalyze organizational change. Springboard stories share some common elements. They generally begin with a protagonist and what he calls the predicament that describes a problem the audience can relate to. They then move on to the resolution of the predicament, embodying the change idea. This is meant to stimulate audience thinking, where they apply the change idea to their organization. The story wraps up either with extrapolating the story to complete the picture or with drawing out the implications. Sometimes both elements are included. They help the audience connect the change idea with practical implications for their specific situations.

That is, the response of the equivalent low-pass lter at a frequency fm is the same as the relative (to center frequency) response of the bandpass lter at fm from its center frequency. At the other extreme of symmetry, if the lter essentially eliminates power at f = k1 but not at f = k1 , S (fm = k1 ) will be only a quarter of the value it would have had with two equal sidebands. (Only half the power exists and half of that is AM.) In this case, we must decompose the single remaining sideband into AM and FM before using Eq. (9.6) to convert L 2 back to S 2 . In general, if the signal, after passing through the bandpass lter, no longer represents pure FM, the sidebands must be separated into L and La before L is reconverted to S . This can be done by treating each sideband as a single sideband and adding the FM sidebands after decomposition. The process is represented in Fig. 9.9.

Specific case of small generators protected by circuit-breakers with a thermalmagnetic tripping relay Let us consider the case of a generator directly feeding a low voltage switchboard. Thermal threshold setting: this must be set at a higher value than the nominal current, e.g. at 1.2 I n . Selection and setting of magnetic tripping relay: the magnetic relay tripping time is approximately between 10 and 20 ms. The minimum short-circuit current value on tripping is the phase-to-phase short-circuit current clear of earth for the transient period. In section 4.2.3 we saw that the phase-to-phase short-circuit current clear of earth is equal to:
